An application has been made to amend the Sign By-law to permit the installation of a 100% electronic message centre (EMC) billboard with 2 faces:
• That is located on a property designated
Tourist Commercial in the City’s Official
Plan;
• To permit a sign within 30 m of an
intersection that may contain any green
or red lettering or graphics that are
illuminated or flashing;
• To permit a billboard with 2 faces within
40.38 m of another billboard location;
and,
• To permit additional signs on the parcel
that conform to the City’s Sign By-law
regulations.
Whereas, the Sign By-law does not permit billboards in the Tourist Commercial district (and on a lot that is not vacant), signs within 30 m of an intersection that contain any green or red lettering or graphics that are illuminated or flashing; requires billboards to be a minimum of 300 m in distance from each other; and no other signs for which a permit is required are permitted on the premises where a billboard
