Notice of Construction - Portage Road and Gallinger Street

The City of Niagara Falls (City) will be undertaking sanitary sewer replacement, watermain replacement and road reconstruction on Portage Rd. (from Althea St. to Thorold Stone Rd.) and Gallinger Street.  The project will involve the replacement of watermain, water services (to property line),hydrants, sanitary sewers and sanitary services (to property line).  This contract will be carried out for the City by Peter’s Excavating Inc.

Construction  is tentatively scheduled to begin the week of February 18, 2026 until August 12, 2026.

The City of Niagara Falls will make every effort to minimize the impact of the construction and restoration to the public by maintaining access for local traffic and emergency vehicles.  However, reduced traffic lanes, pedestrian route disruptions or detours and intermittent full road closures can be expected.  Please adjust your travel schedule accordingly for travel in this area.  We appreciate your patience during this work.
